Screen your whole catalogue by HS code

Which of your thousands of part numbers are Common High Priority items, or listed in an EU or US control annex? VetLane answers for every line of your catalogue, from the export your ERP already makes, and keeps the answer current.

The problem

A distributor's catalogue changes every week and its HS codes come from many places: customs declarations, supplier invoices, manufacturer pages. Checking 50 CHPL codes by hand is possible once; keeping it right for every new part, and adding the EU annexes and the US lists, is not. Meanwhile, every order for a listed part should trigger closer checks on the buyer and the destination.

How VetLane does it

  1. Import: a CSV or Excel export with part number, description and HS code is enough. Templates show the expected columns, and lines rejected for a missing or invalid code are listed so you can fix them.
  2. Match: each code is compared by prefix, on 6 to 10 digits, with the 50 codes of the Common High Priority List, the annexes of EU Regulation 833/2014 that list goods by code, and Supplement No. 4 to Part 746 of the US EAR.
  3. Flag: each part gets its CHPL tier and the annexes that name it, or "not listed", with the source and version date.
  4. Connect to orders: when you import orders, listed parts raise the VetLane Score of the order and of the customer, so you review the sales that matter first.
  5. Keep current: when a list or your catalogue changes, the affected parts are screened again.

On the Starter and Pro plans, an HS classification assistant suggests codes for parts that have none, from their description, for you to confirm.

What you get

  • A list of your listed parts by tier and annex, exportable.
  • The parts with no usable code, so that no line is left unscreened.
  • A sealed record of the catalogue screening, with the list versions used. See the audit trail.
